The Process

A Mystery Scoop is a selection of items across a variety of categories that are randomly selected from a scoop pool. Luck of the Ladle scoops beads that correspond to a variety of categories, and then randomly selects slips of paper from each category's drawer. The items that appear on the slips of paper are the items that you will receive in your scoop, unless you have requested not to receive a particular item. We have found that scooping for a category and then pulling for items based on the number of beads scooped for that category dramatically reduces the number of duplicates you could potentially receive of the item in your scoop.

We currently offer 11 categories, with a total of 97 items on our menu board. New items are constantly being added, so it is possible that you could receive an item that hasn't been added to the board yet. Currently, our categories are "Bookmarks the Spot," "Take Care of Your Selfie," "Love Your Locks," "Jot It Down," "Make a Note of It," "Keeping It All Together," "A Little Sparkle to Help You Shine," "Accessorize It," "Techie Treasures," "Hygge," and "The Paperie."

You may request up to 4 exclusions, with the understanding that you then may receive duplicates of some items depending on how many scoops you purchase and the number of available items in each category that is pulled for you. We try to avoid duplicates if we can, and if duplicates cannot be avoided, then we try to include a variation of color or pattern.

We also offer "Golden Grab" items, which are a variety of premium items not available in the general scoop. These items may be aligned with the theme you have ordered your scoop from. These are also mystery items, randomly selected. Orders with two or more regular scoops will qualify for Golden Grab items - the quantity of which corresponds to the number of scoops you have ordered. Golden Grabs may also be added to your order.
